School Logos
The logo for Souvenir Elementary School shows three children holding hands around the globe, representing unity. The apple, representing health, and the peace sign demonstrate some of our most important values. They demonstrate our desire to teach children to live in harmony with their surroundings and to have respect for themselves and others. The book stands for literacy, as we are dedicated to instilling desire for lifelong learning. The Earth represents that we are a green school, environmentally conscious and caring of the footprint we leave behind for future generations. Our motto is Peace by Peace, We Succeed. The words emphasize the joint commitment of educators, students and families of the Souvenir Elementary School community to act responsibly and with respect to nurture one another in our ability and readiness to learn. Finally, we value bilingualism, as an English public school with a strong French program.
A partnership with the Canadian Armed Forces SkyHawks, inspired by the memory of former Souvenir student Sergeant Chris Karigiannis, was formed. With the creation of the SkyHawks team logo, we are reinforcing the school’s history, as well as the mission and vision statements, by promoting collaboration, loyalty, honesty, respect, perseverance, caring, and responsibility. Souvenir Elementary School has since been designated ‘Skyhawk Territory’ where these principles are promoted, reinforced and interwoven to all extents.
